Chained to the Screen

Artwork #2 in my exhibition, "Chained to the Screen", was inspired by Rohan Daniel Eason. This artwork belongs to a two part story paired with " i wish this was all just a dream..." focused on human trafficking. The artwork depicts a man with a mask in front of a computer surrounded by a crowd of chained individuals. The black wall creates a void like effect alluding to not just the man but the evils on the other side of the screen.

This was my first pen and ink artwork, falling in love with the medium the second I tried it. The artist inspiration, Rohan Daniel Eason, has great ways of using texture and perspective to create an unsettling atmosphere, something I wanted to practice in this artwork. The medium helped to give this familiar illustration-like feel while keeping that creepiness. Truly an artwork and medium I enjoyed working with!
